About Us

Rachel Harris is one of the few registered teachers with BBOdance in Scotland, which allows her to enter students into examinations. Having gained a Distinction in bbodance Level 6 Teacher Qualification, which is regulated by OFQUAL, she became one of the highest qualified teachers in Scotland.

The British Ballet Organization is an international awarding organisation, delivering a world-renowned syllabus training for exams and qualification programmes.

Rachel graduated from Leeds Beckett University in 2016 with (BA) Hons degree in Dance and has since completed many more additional qualifications and courses including;
- Progressive Ballet Technique Teachers Certificate in all 3 levels by PBT Dance
- Teachers Module 1,2&3 Diploma in Flexibility by Alixa Flexibility
- Advanced Diploma in Level 3 Mat Pilates Instructor by Future Fit.

As a Registered Teacher with the bbodance, Rachel continues to attend CPD workshops each year.

Benoit studied Dance in France, first at the Paris Opera Ballet School and then at the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse. Graduating from Paris Conservatoire, Benoit collaborated in the creation of two seminal dance pieces. Plastic Mythology (by Ashley Page) and Light Fandango (by Robert North) now tour the world and are in the repertoire of numerous companies. That was just before Robert North then Ashley Page became directors for Scottish Ballet. That same year, the Conservatoire received permission for Benoit to perform Balanchine Apollo. He began his performing career at 19 for Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal Canada and also danced for Ballett Basel in Switzerland. During this period he toured China, Australia, the United

States, France, Germany, Hungary and Canada. As a performer, his credits include such pieces as: Giselle, Coppelia, The Nutcracker, and works or creations by Balanchine (Apollo, Theme and Variations...), as well as works from such esteemed choreographers as Nacho Duato, Jiri Killian,Catherine Habasque, William Forsythe, Lucinda Childs, Richard Wherlock, Jose Limon, Merce Cunningham, Ashley Page, Septime Webre, Robert North, Douglas Becker, Kevin O’Day to name just a few. During his time with Ballett Basel, Benoit developed a taste for choreography and seized opportunities to choreograph for the company. After suffering an injury that cut his stage career short, and after a gruelling recovery, Benoit pivoted his focus and established himself in the UK as a freelance dance artist. Here he specialized in performing, teaching, choreographing and restaging works for companies and institutions such as the C.A.T (Centre for Advanced Training) national scheme, Matthew Bourne's New Adventures, The

Royal Ballet School's Associates and Partnership and Access, The Scottish School of Contemporary Dance. Benoit completed his French teaching qualification in classical ballet, the Diplôme;Etat de Professeur de Danse in 2001. In 2013, he joined the teaching team at The Scottish School of Contemporary Dance, with responsibility for Classical training. In 2016 he also gained his TQFE delivered by the University of Aberdeen.

Eilidh started dancing when she was 3 years old, initially in ballet before also starting jazz, modern jazz and lyrical. Dancing took Eilidh to Ireland where she danced at a local festival, and to America where she danced on the stage at Disney World in Florida. She achieved a distinction mark in the highest grade for both ballet and modern jazz as well as achieving an A in Higher Dance. She completed the vocational grades in modern jazz which included an introduction to teaching. She started assisting with modern jazz and ballet classes in 2014 at her dance school. Whilst at university, Eilidh taught and choreographed for the university ballet team and competed with the jazz and tap team which allowed for a much-needed break from studies!

Eilidh started assisting with Acrobatic Dance classes in 2014, and later went on to work at a specialist Acrobatic Dance school with classes in Edinburgh and Perth, whilst at university. This involved assisting in classes, choreographing dances for competitions, organising and running a showcase, as well helping with other styles of dance. She completed her Acrobatic Dance training in 2019 through Acrobatic Arts.

A recent "transplant" from Australia, Tara moved to Dundee in 2024. She’s worked teaching and coaching children, teenagers, and adults in all things circus and upside down movement since 2020. She especially loves teaching flexibility, aerial hoop, and handbalancing. Tara has performed in competitions and open air events and enjoys seeing the joy in her students when they achieve something they didn’t think was possible. 

Tara has gained several qualifications over the years including, Aerial Arts Module 1, Dance Cirque (Trapeze, Lyra, silks, poi, hula hoop, juggling) and ADA/TADA handbalancing. She has also expanded her flexibility training gaining her Teachers Module 1&2 Diploma in Flexibility by Alixa Flexibility as well as completing FlexAbility. During Tara's classes she takes her knowledge from all of her experiences and qualification and is greatly missed in Australia. 

Christine is a Pilates instructor based in Dundee. She started practicing over 10 years ago and quickly became passionate about the benefits the practice can bring to each and every person. Christine began her journey to become an instructor in 2015 and completed Mat Pilates Level 3 qualification with the Energywise Academy in Edinburgh.

Christine has been teaching since January 2016. Her classes are designed to suit all levels. Christine uses variations and modifications designed to allow every participant to benefit from the practice. Christine’s passion to promote and educate on the benefits of a regular Pilates practice continues to drive her teaching and her classes bring people together within a community.

Ola join RHSD as a student at the very start and has quickly moved up the Levels working currently at Grade 5. In 2023 Ola successfully gained certification in Once Upon A Ballet, This qualification has given an in-depth look at teaching children ages 2-5. She is currently teaching Little Dancers, Pre-syllabus Ballet and Pre-syllabus Modern, while still assisting our higher level students.
